Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. The first three manufacturers have started manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Conditions

The drones will be based on a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in combat and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.
