Tragic News on Cargo Plane Incident: Fatalities Rises to 13

The tally of fatalities from the UPS cargo plane that ignited and plummeted has now risen to 13, according to recent statements.

Mayor's Announcement

Traveling to the Workers’ vigil, I was informed of a thirteenth victim that died as a result of the plane incident,” expressed the municipal leader in a public communication. “My thoughts are with the loved ones, friends and colleagues of all who were killed in this recent calamity. We will overcome this collectively.”

Casualties Named

An announcement from the company identified the officers operating the aircraft as Captain Richard Wartenberg, Co-pilot Lee Truitt, and Relief Captain Dana Diamond.

“Our sympathies reach out to all UPSer who has been affected and all in our Louisville community – helping you and making sure you receive the care and resources you need is our main concern,” the company’s communication stated.

Probe Updates

Federal authorities announced that the freight aircraft’s wing caught fire and an power plant separated shortly after takeoff from the aviation hub, leading to the aircraft to crash and burst into a inferno.

The safety agency stated it is investigating the aircraft’s service record, that was in the state for repairs a period ahead of the crash.

Flight tracking data indicated the aircraft was on the tarmac in that location from 3 September to last week.

“We are aware that this jet was there in the facility,” said an investigator on Thursday, without providing a exact time frame. “We will look at each aspect of repairs that was performed, from the repair period, straight to the day of the flight.”

Recovery of Critical Components

The pilot’s recorder and flight data recorder were retrieved, and the engine was located on the runway.

The devices – known as data containers – were built to endure collision damage and intense heat from blazes, and they appeared to be undamaged when found within the crash debris. Authorities plan on examining data from the recorders.

The plane’s final data recordings showed an altitude of that level and a velocity of 210 miles per hour ahead of the impact.

Repair Record

Based on FAA documents from last month, a fissure on a component inside the fuel container demanded maintenance.

Headquartered in Singapore ST Engineering, which indicated it offers structural repairs for UPS’s aircraft and runs a maintenance center in Texas, declined to speak, but said it would work closely when investigators reached out it.

Activities Resume

At the same time, UPS Worldport activities resumed last night with its express also known as evening procedure, spokesperson a representative stated. Each of the three runways at Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport were also back in operation.

The sorting center in this location is the organization’s most significant. The facility hires more than a large number of individuals in the area, processes numerous trips daily and sorts over a huge volume of parcels each hour.

Local Support

A candlelight vigil was organized on the evening of that date by the regional Teamsters Union, which supports workers at the aviation hub, the firm’s primary air cargo hub.

Worker representatives, which represents employees, started the memorial with a quiet tribute at that time, the rough time of the crash before.

“This incident was so unexpected, so surprising,” the official addressed the group of two hundred. “No one had a chance to say goodbye to each of those who we have said farewell to.”
