A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.
“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”
Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.
“It has a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.

Creation and Launch
Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The track showcases a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The context in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.
“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and showing that another narrative exists.”
