Star Refutes Anti-Vax Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Covid Film

Liam Neeson has provided his narration to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of vaccinations and commends one-time cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Feature's Contentious Foundation

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

The book's co-author, a producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. He took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the project.

An Unequivocal Statement

A spokesperson for the actor have released a response strongly denying claims that he subscribes to anti-immunization views.

"Everyone can understand that unethical practices might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the statement states. "He never has been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His long work with the global charity highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

It added that the actor was not involved in crafting the project's editorial content and that questions about its claims should be directed to the producers.

Major Claims Within the Film

According to the documentary, the script spoken by Neeson makes several provocative claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "science has become deeply politicized."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding pandemic shots, it references a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Controversy and Current Issues

The documentary includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation confirming no evidence has been found.

A Past Statement of Endorsement

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an incredible human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's voice saying, "This isn't the end of our story. This is the beginning of a different phase."
