Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold on a six-year agreement

The defender's comeback is progressing smoothly, raising possibility that the Real Madrid right-back could return in time to face his old team Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old international suffered a hamstring strain while playing against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the early stages, with early indications indicating a potential layoff of around six weeks.

Real Madrid will travel to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just seven weeks after the incident happened.

Reports close to the situation indicate that the defender's comeback is moving along favorably, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his first return to Liverpool's stadium after signing for Los Blancos in the summer.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that departing from the club he entered as a six-year-old youth talent was the "hardest choice he has ever made."

During his time with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 appearances, helping secure multiple English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

After moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating over two and a half hours of action.
