Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
